Well I am happy to report that week one is over and I have lost 4 lbs. :) Yay yay. A good week overall but a few minor slip ups, it is hard to stay away from carbs and sugar all together so I modified it and if I was going to have carbs I only had them with one meal. I also tried to drink a ton of water. The exercise thing didn't work out so well, I made it to the gym twice this week but I did get on my treadmill at home a couple of times so I guess that counts. The hard part about losing weight is when it comes off slowly, you just want to make it into that next smaller size but it just doesn't work that way. I have lots of goals to meet but I am doing it 5 lbs at a time. Maybe that will make it easier.
Goals for this next week are to make it to the gym Mon-Thurs. I need to do this because then the weight will come off faster, hopefully that will make me feel better. Maybe when I am stressed I can go work out instead of going shopping I am sure my pocket book will like that better. Any suggestions in how to enjoy working out? I don't know what it is but I just don't like it. I don't know if I just get bored or if I feel awkward or if I am just being silly and not wanting to do something that is good for me. Who knows. :)
Skip the boring treadmill routine - do something you enjoy at least once a week to break up the monotony!
ReplyDelete* I've always enjoyed aerobics classes cause they push me harder than I intended to work-out - but they do require coordination and sometimes being alongside intimidating people.
* Go snowshoeing! I personally hate it but the calorie count climbs quickly and you get to be outside.
* Swimming is really healthy - yes bathing suits suck, but the APU pool is saltwater, fairly empty, and not so expensive.
As soon as you get in a routine you'll find excercising comes more easily. And as soon as you get out of the routine you'll find you can't take it and must work-out! I promise it'll happen. It's happened to my mom this year and she's lost 50 pounds with at least another 50 to go. She's 55! Think of how much easier its gonna be for you! :)
Love you girl, super proud of you for doing this - 5 pounds at a time.
When I was really doing good at the working out thing I would switch it up and only spend 15 minutes on one machine. This worked well because I would always find myself getting bored about that time and justifying finishing up early. I would pick three and just switch it up, starting with the one I hated and saving the one I liked the best for last. So it would go: Stairmaster, Eliptical and then Bike. I got to my goal super quick that way, and I dont feel like I ever hit a plateau. I made sure to ALWAYS do three machines though.... Just a thought :)I'm impressed by your blog and I need to get motivated to get back to the gym too!
